10 LAPTOPS FOR SAO TOME!

GREAT NEWS! An organization called Group Excellence, Ltd, which supplies laptops to USA students, has just donated 10 laptop computers (non-XO) to our teachers in São Tomé. I can't say enough how amazingly excited I am about this!!! The teachers have been needing these computers for a while now and I am just so happy to be helping them out, finally. The XOs are definitely a little bit small for them :)

Hip-hip hurray!!!

Please keep the donations coming, especially if you're interested in helping me cover airfare (I'm still about $1,900 in the hole). If you do donate to travel, please note that specifically when you donate so that I know where to put the money.

Thank you all so much for your continued support. We're moving slowly but definitely deliberately with our program!

$2,000 poorer, infinitely richer

Well, we made it through the summer program and things are going well at São João. Professora Arlete just emailed me today with the five winning storybooks that the students created -- and they are adorable!

Now we're just battling the fact that I spent $2,000 that I don't have on flight tickets to São Tomé and need to get that money back somehow.

If you work for an organization that might be interested in footing part of the bill (and future bills, too), please let me know. I have a great funding proposal that I can cater to your needs.

Thanks all. Stay tuned for more news!
